As a Manchester-based publication, we’re always listening out for good Northern things and then shouting about them as loudly as we can. And given how many great creative things are based in the North – more and more it seems – we find ourselves shouting quite a lot at the minute.
One of our favourite Northern brands that, for whatever reason, we’ve not talked about nearly enough is Elliker. They hail from Yorkshire and create the type of gear that can conquer the Dales and the Dolomites, or just fifteen cups of strong Yorkshire Gold Tea. They started life making bags, but have since graduated to apparel, which is also impressively good.
For SS26, Elliker have unveiled a new collection called Journey Through Texture. Naturally, the campaign was shot in the Dales and follows a gentle wander through the national park’s landscape. Limestone, water, winding paths, open sky – all the little details that let you know you’re up North.
There are three new additions to the brand’s bread & butter category. The Bain Sling is a smaller everyday bag for when you’re travelling light, while the Nidder Roll Top cross-body bag gives you a bit more room when needed. And finally, there’s the Rigg Hydration Backpack, a 6L pack designed with proper hikes in mind. All three arrive in new Taupe and Lime colourways.
On the clothing side, the graphic tees get a couple of new additions too. The Bird Print and Bluebell Print tees bring a bit of illustrated countryside into the mix, joining updated versions of the existing Bug Print design. Elsewhere, the Altson Short Sleeve Shirt returns in fresh colourways and now has a long-sleeve version alongside it, which feels like a natural progression for a shirt that’s quickly become a staple for the brand.
And because Elliker are from Yorkshire, they’re well aware that “spring/summer” doesn’t always exist. For those cooler evenings, there’s the Hudswell Pullover Grid Fleece Hoodie, a lightweight layering piece that pairs neatly with the new Arkle Zip Softshell Jacket. Closing things out are two new below-the-waist options: the Thrin Cargo Tech Trouser and the Sayer Belt Tech Shorts, both designed with the same mix of outdoor practicality and everyday wearability that runs through the rest of the collection.
All in all, it’s a collection that feels very rooted in where it comes from – shaped by the landscape of the Dales and photographed in it too. Up the North!
