We’ve arrived at that time of the year when deciding what to put on your feet is nigh on impossible. Do you go for something summery, and risk getting your feet soaked by one of those impromptu June showers we’re all too familiar with? Or do you opt for the safer, but far sweatier option in a pair of GORE-TEX trainers? Either way, your feet are going to end up somewhat moist.
Soon, though, we’ll experience some prolonged sunshine and be rid of this stylistic conundrum. And when that day comes, we’ve already decided we’re going to be wearing the new Merrell 1TRL Cham Redux Sieve all summer long.
The hybrid sandal is an amalgamation of neoprene, leather and velcro straps, and resembles something similar to what we’d imagine the caretaker of the International Space Station wearing on foot. It’s weird, wonderful and unequivocally Merrell 1TRL – the type of sandal you could wear for a family picnic and then to Berghain all in the same day/night.
Then, accompanying the Cham Redux Sieve is a duo of new Cham Redux colourways…
The two styles have been dubbed Comet and Casper. The former combines pastel lilac tones with a copper colour on the midsole, while the Casper colourway opts for a clean mishmash of white and grey. Both utilise plush suede overlays to create a layered look, while elegant motifs inspired by traditional lacework add a certain level of futuristic refinement.
With the weather continuing to be incapable of making up its mind, we’re finding it equally difficult to decide what belongs on our feet. Thankfully, with this new release, Merrell 1TRL have given us an option for every occasion and forecast.
