Nanamica unveil their AW26 collection

Whenever Nanamica releases a new lookbook, it’s big news here in the Proper office – we promptly drop everything, and crowd round a dirty monitor screen like seagulls sizing up a toddler’s ice cream.

Like most jacket-centric brands, Nanamica’s Autumn-Winter lookbooks are always superior to their Spring-Summer counterparts, and fortunately for these seagulls, that’s exactly what has been fired into our inbox today. And let us tell you, we’ve never been so excited to see duffel coats and GORE-TEX while sitting in 30-degree heat as we are now looking at this.

This new Nanamica AW26 quite literally has it all. Tailoring. Patterned shirts. Denim. Cargo pants. Cardigans. Down jackets. Cardigans. Tracksuits. It’s all there – modelled by people wearing the faintly smug expression that suggests they know exactly what it’s like to be dressed head-to-toe in Nanamica, while you, the viewer, will likely never know such luxury.

Some of the instant standout bits for us include a down jacket made from recycled fishing nets, a Primaloft-lined long coat, and a duffel that has been modelled on the type of garb sported by Nordic fishermen. To say Nanamica went all in on outerwear for this collection doesn’t even begin to do it justice – this might just be their best offering of outerwear yet.

The trousers look exceptional too, with a collection ranging wildly in terms of formality and function. We’re big into the moss green carpenter-looking pants, but are also drawn to the wool suit trousers that lie totally the other side of the formality spectrum. This tendency to dip in and out of certain genres is a large part of why we can never ignore what Nanamica are up to.

Styling, as always, is also on point. Deep layering, lots of texture, and the kind of outfits that make it easy to ignore that smug gaze on the models’ faces.

It’s set to be another standout season from one of the best Autumn-Winter brands on the planet, only thing to do now is sit and wait for launch…
