Seven from SEVEN – Hole In One

Golf is the kind of activity you’d have traditionally associated with your Grandad. A hobby that consisted of nothing more than spending copious amounts of money on sticks of metal, and travelling up to Scotland four times a year to wear mouldy sweaters in freezing cold temperatures.

But just as we’ve seen style perceptions around Grandad’s changing (Ahem, @gramparents), perceptions around golf are changing too. Gone are the days of leathery men flicking their bogeys across the fairway as they desperately try to avoid scoring the same – golf is cool now, and you only have to look at the sheer number of streetwear-inspired golf brands to see as much.

Malbon, MANORS, Metalwood, Devereux – are just a handful of the names carving out an entirely new style for one of the most misinterpreted sports on the planet, with larger names like PUMA & adidas also rushing to cash in on golf’s newfound premium appeal.

And we’re about to do the exact same. We’ve never played 18 holes, we’ve not even come close to getting a hole in one, and we couldn’t possibly tell you who won the Ryder Cup last year. But what we can advise on, is good gear to sport on the fairway – see our picks from SEVENSTORE below:

Metalwood Lined V Neck Sweater

The V-neck sweater might just be the most misunderstood golfing garment of all time. For years, it’s been plagued by garish patterns and questionable colourways, but here Metalwood is proving the humble garment has a lot more to offer.

Manors Recycled Greenskeeper Pant

Traditionally, you’d envision golfing legwear to be cream and pulled right up to the nipples, but thankfully, those days are long gone. These MANORS Pants are made from recycled materials, proving you can dress progressively while aiming for par.

adidas x Metalwood MC70

We never thought we’d be sitting here saying golf footwear is cool, but these adidas x Metalwood MC70s have totally changed our minds. The all-silver colourway is oozing with early-2000s nostalgia, and we’re fairly confident they’ll add a couple of yards to your drive. Probably.

Manors Shooter Shirt

One thing we can’t dispute is golf’s longstanding symbiosis with great shirting. For the Shooter Shirt, Manors have swapped out the traditional airy cotton for a four-way stretch fabric and a nicely placed chest pocket.

adidas x Metalwood Glove

Another standout item from the heralded adidas x Metalwood collaboration. We’ve got no clue what the actual mechanics are behind wearing a golf glove, but it certainly looks nice.

Metalwood Digital Hombre Shirt

This looks less like something you’d see on a golf course and more like something you’d spot on a Bristolian teenager at a warehouse rave. This bold, bright and borderline hallucinogenic Metalwood tee is proof that golf apparel has well and truly left tradition behind.

Metalwood Logo 5 Panel Cap

Real tree camouflage seems to have barged its way into every corner of the smorgasbord lately, and this Metalwood Cap proves that the golf course is not exempt.
