Now here’s something you don’t see everyday, a distribution company opening up a shop. Craig Ford’s a number of names* look after the sales and marketing for highly desirable street-wear labels such as A Bathing Ape®, TSPTR, Bedwin & the Heartbreakers, Human Made amongst other very cool brands. It’s not Craig’s first foray into retail having launched first ever BAPE® store outside Japan back in 2001 and the Billionaire Boys Club and ICECREAM London satellite stores. He also started his working life at the legendary Duffer of St George – initially as a Saturday boy and then as a buyer.
“The store will sell a hand picked selection of all a number of names* brands plus a few other brands all will be from people and brands we already have a personal relationship with, many will be exclusive to the UK, unavailable elsewhere in the EU. We will also be selling for the first time a number of names* own brand product previously only available to friends and family; tee’s, sweats, hoods, caps and accessories to include mugs, pencils and badges. The a number of names* store and webstore will be on the only place they will be available.” Explains Craig who founded ANON back in 2008. “We will also collaborate with our brands to make exclusive co-branded products”.
The store opened last Saturday in Soho and though I’ve yet to pop in I’m already impressed by the huge screen in store that features a still from the Monday’s Performance video. And when I do make it down there I fully expect to see Craig’s and his mates Pharrell, NIGO and Tet Nishiyama shooting the breeze by the tills.
