Seeing that adidas Argyle pattern instantly gets my mind spinning back to two different destinations in time. The first being circa 1983-84 when everyone into their gear went a bit nuts over anything golf related which meant your average youth club had more diamonds in it than Naomi Campbell’s sock drawer. Whilst the second era of adi Argyle nostalgia takes me back the early to mid Noughties when attending any gig in Manchester by an artist on Twisted Nerve records would ensure the sighting of someone in an adidas Argyle tracky top or ‘V’ neck jumper. So it’s with a great deal of fondness to see that this iconic pattern is back just in time for a new decade and one in which I hope the golf look is going to make a real resurgence, especially in the clubs.
