Well here it is leisure wear/shoe fans, more archive inspired modern magic from Mr Aspden in the form of the adidas Spezial AW17 range. Jam packed with all those bits and bobs that made us go mental for adi in the first place yet revised, remixed and generally improved upon to make them equally appealing to those of us who like to look forward as well as looking back. Whilst it’s all predictably brilliant with something for everyone who holds the drei streifen close to their hearts the standout pieces for me include the lightweight down-filled Kopelman vest, the flocked Loisirs t-shirt, the Ardwick anorak and of course those hikerdelic hi-tops. Named the Winterhill SPEZIAL they’re largely influenced by adi’s outdoor archive and the pairs of boots in there belonging to legendary Italian mountaineer Reinhold Messner. For me they’re without a doubt one of the greatest pairs of shoes adidas have ever done.
