adidas Spezial returns with a fresh Pre-Spring 2022 collection featuring archival silhouettes.
Gary Aspden’s adidas Spezial line returns this February with a curated collection of footwear and apparel.
Last year, Spezial finished the year with a huge collaboration with C.P. Company, which saw the two bastions of casual and terrace subculture come together, with Luke Shaw at the forefront, to celebrate C.P. Company’s 50th anniversary. The collection set the foundations for Spezial’s highly anticipated Pre-Spring 2022 release.
Aspden’s creative input focuses on timeless and functional details, taking elements from military aesthetics, sportswear, and outdoor culture, and amalgamating them through a Spezial scope.
The Barrowland jacket, for example, takes inspiration from the Spezial SS18 Horwich Anorak, and is loaded to the tens with technical detail and utility.
Ultimately, when we talk about Spezial, footwear is the first thing on everyone’s minds, and this collection features six styles across five silhouettes, including the Moscrop SPZL, Winterhill SPZL, Lothertex SPZL, Carnforth SPZL, and two colorways of the Barrowland SPZL.
Paying homage to the football roots that fuel adidas, the collection features a campaign film, with several stills below, starring Tottenham Hotspur’s Alfie Devine, Leicester City F.C.’s Hamza Choudhury and Arsenal F.C.’s Kieran Tierney.
The collection goes live on February 3rd, through selected retailers like Oi Polloi and Wellgosh.
