So any-way, being Stockport’s answer to Karl Lagerfeld and Gok Wan, we headed over to Paris last weekend to check out the Capsule and Rendez-Vous trade shows. Something neither of us thought we’d ever end up doing but since issue ten of the mag has blown everyone’s socks off and very nearly sold out in just a month. We decided it’s time to take this clothing lark seriously, well as seriously as we can be.
Heritage, Research……If there are two words to sum up the vision of Russ Gater and Daniel Savory, these two are probably the best. We decided it’d be nice to find out more. Russ kindly answered our questions in Issue 8 of Proper, back in early 2009.

Hopefully by now you will have gotten over your NYE hangover/comedown/boring night in and will have taken January 2011 firmly by the horns. s you may or may not know I (Neil) am very fond of graphic novels,usually ones that have a factual narrative and are ideally based around a war of some sort. So just thought I’d give you a heads up on my latest find, actually it was more of a present than a find (thanks love). Having read all ten volumes of the brilliant Hiroshima survivor ‘Barefoot Gen’, I’d since experienced something of a lull in decent comics for grown-ups.

We’ve been doing this magazine thing for almost 5 years now. It seems like yesterday that we were hastily stapling copies together in the spare room at Proper Towers, but having made an extra effort to improve things this last 12 months, the new and improved version of our “little fanzine” has come of age.
Avid readers of Proper will remember our interview with Russ Gater from Heritage Research in Issue 8 of the magazine. We’ve kept a keen and appreciative eye on everything they’ve done since, and while we always write about stuff we’re into, Heritage Research gear is stuff we’re really, really into.
Antony Crook, Glenn Kitson and James Bowthorpe went to Norway and filmed this beautiful video in the middle of the night. It’s Norway, see…Norway where the sun always has it’s hat on in summer. It pretty much hibernates in winter and there’s barely any daylight. That’s not important right now. What is important is you check this video out.
