Breton Britany with Armour Lux

Stripes have an air of whimsical sophistication. Armour Lux, the brand from the Britany region of France, knows this. They know this because French sailors wore stripes, they know this because striped shirts are called Breton shirts, and they know this because one of France’s greatest adopted painters, Picasso, famously wore Breton shirts with complete enthusiasm.

Armour Lux have taken the traditional Breton shirt, shortened the sleeves, and swapped out the blue-and-white stripes for red-and-white. It’s an inversion of their heritage: a modernisation.

A spade is a spade but a stripe is never just a stripe.
