C.P. Company and adidas Spezial announce collaboration

Ahead of the forthcoming C.P. Company exhibition in Lancashire, the brand has joined forces with adidas Spezial to announce their exciting new collaboration.

To do this, they’ve commissioned this huge piece of artwork which depicts adidas ambassador and England left back Luke Shaw wearing the Haslingden jacket from the range. It is painted by celebrated mural artist Peter Barber, perhaps best known for his recent NHS tribute in Manchester.

The small Lancashire market town of Darwen might seem an unlikely location for this to pop up, but it shouldn’t be a huge surprise given the place is set to host the British Textile Biennial, with particular focus on the C.P. Company story and its impact on fashion over the last half-century. With legions of devotees to the brand set to descend on this corner of Lancashire the mural will be in pole position with a captive audience.

In addition, the area is steeped in history which revolves around both the industrial revolution and the formation of what we now know to be football.

The mural unveiled yesterday, Tuesday, September 28, ties in with ‘Cinquanta’, a retrospective exhibition of C.P. Company’s illustrious archive in Darwen as part of the British Textile Biennial. At this event, the C.P. Company x adidas Spezial collaboration will be revealed in more detail, but we do know it’s going to be a two piece capsule. With marketing expert Lorenzo Osti as president, C.P. has really pushed the boat out this year, with a series of activity which really pushes forward the brand’s impact on men’s fashion and sportswear today. The fact Lorenzo has such a strong affinity with the brand through his family history is merely a bonus.

It’s cultural relevance continues to grow and in the link up with adidas Spezial, they’re sure to be onto another winner.

To reserve your place at the event, which starts at noon on Friday, head to cpcompany.com and register.
