Carhartt is Forever a Crowd Favourite

When walking around Manchester – or, at least the Northern Quarter – it seems like it’s the Carhartt epicentre of the North. There’s two shops and numerous other stockists, meaning that Carhartt is universally loved – and for good reason. The workwear staple, including European offshoot, WIP, is of high quality, has a rich, down-to-earth heritage, and in comparison to a lot of other counterparts from Japan and elsewhere, is rather affordable.

This Tanami jacket, for example, pops in at less than three hundred beans. This three gauge lambswool sweater is under one fifty, and if you’re looking for a rugged-yet-sexy apron that works in both the kitchen and at carpentry classes, this comes in at eighty. Okay, that’s a little expensive for an apron, but it is made of a lovely two tone canvas.

Yards Store’s collection of Carhartt grows periodically – often with bits that you can’t find in the shops round the corner.
