Cartocon SS16 Lookbook

Following the opening of Cartocon’s new physical retail space, here is a selection of products from their SS16 lookbook, titled ‘TRANSFORM.CREATE.REPLACE’.

Shot in the midst of the regeneration work going at their new gaff, the lookbook, and products therein, were first on show when the new place opened a couple of weekends ago. The collection is influenced by cult films Videodrome and The Holy Mountain, and other pieces of art which, the guys at Cartocon say, “have the theme of transformation at their core”.

That explains shooting the collection in the middle of doing up the shop. TRANSFORMATION, indeed.

Some stand out pieces in the collection are the ‘Head’ tee, which features a reflective print of a key scene from Videodrome; and the ‘Square’ tee and sweatshirt of the protagonist in The Holy Mountain film, on the back, ascending a huge tower so that he can begin to access immortality. It comes in a green so bright that it is downright ludicrous, but it will look class in the sunshine this summer. And, if you wear it, you’re guaranteed never to die, ever, no matter what you do, when you are wearing it.

That might not necessarily be true, but not many, if any, t-shirts can offer that sort of guarantee. Well played, Cartocon, for the insinuation.

Try to achieve immortality here.
