Dries Van Noten is inspired by the modernist work of Len Lye.
Dries Van Noten builds on the work of Len Lye, a Kiwi artist who pioneered film and kinetic sculpture. Lye worked in the 30s, yet carried with him a psychedelic feel and touch.
Explicitly, Lye took strips of celluloid and painted directly onto them, resulting in polychromatic film strips. Stills from these films have made their way onto various pieces of Van Noten’s ready-to-wear range, such as t-shirts, shirts and jackets.
Pockets has a huge range of Dries Van Noten’s Len Lye works, all significantly discounted at Pocket’s Outlet.
