Having spent some quality time over in Copenhagen last week watching the world’s greatest skateboarders compete against one another I am still in complete awe of what I am without any doubt is the world’s coolest sport. Which is perhaps why my attention has been drawn to Element’s ‘Guardians’ collection featuring the incredible illustrations of Welsh illustrator Patrick Schmidt. The collection is inspired by traditional Tibetan tiger rugs that are used to provide protection during meditation with Patrick giving each of the Element riders their own spirit animal. Nick Garcia gets a coyote, Brandon Westgate a bobcat and Julian Davidson gets a snake, each of which are featured on a series of three Element decks and tees all of which are most excellent.
