Fred Perry, British Workwear capsule collection

Usually when we get some news from Fred Perry we jump on the chance to proudly big up Fred and mention he’s from our home town of Stockport but this time they’ve done it for us in their press release, so here’s what they have to say about their latest capsule collection from their genuinely ace Authentic range: For AW12 Fred Perry returns to its roots, with a collection that references the styles and fabrics of classic British factory and workshop wear of the 1930’s and 40’s. The son of a Stockport cotton spinner; Fred Perry’s drive and determination was born from a culture of hard work and perfecting your craft. The collection sees rich wool flannel jackets sit alongside heavy down coats; layered over textured knits and tri-colour marl sweats. Taking inspiration from both the factory floor and the working man’s club, the collection features refined but hardwearing pieces alongside traditional tartan and Oxford shirtings, tipped and plain pique jerseys and fine gauge merino knits. Good eh? Cotton mill chic is the way forward…..
