Man do I love a quality piece of knitwear and to be frank they don’t come any better than Morrison, an Antwerp based brand that’s been producing amazing woollen wear in Scotland since the early eighties, launching their excellent Howlin’ label in 2009 providing a warm and colourful wave of woollen happiness throughout the land ever since. Howlin’ means smelly in certain Scottish parlance by the way, which I think has something to do with the traditional manufacturing process and/or the skilled craftsmen that they use rather than the high quality end results as I’ve always found their stuff to smell rather erm… jumper-y. For their AW13 campaign they teamed up with psychedelic Californian band Allah-Las and their producer singer-songwriter Nick Waterhouse both of whom share a preoccupation with sound as well as a love of vintage vinyl and analogue instruments which they use to help navigate their continuous trip towards aural perfection. Which is exactly why Howlin have hooked up with these West coast wizards as they too set out to achieve perfection when designing their sublime knitwear, mission accomplished Morrison.
