Jack is Back – Margaret Howell Reissues M025 jacket made famous by The Shining

Few films can hold a candle to The Shining in terms of iconic imagery. From the oft-referenced carpet designs to the plentifully parodied “Here’s Johnny” scene, it’s also notable for its inclusion of this luxurious Margaret Howell garment.

This wasn’t some curated wardrobe department choice, but the jacket of Jack Nicholson himself, which he chose to wear as he took on the form of Jack Torrance in the 1980 film. Having turned up on set in said garment, the production crew of Stanley Kubrick contacted Margaret Howell to arrange a number of replicas and a classic movie look was inadvertently born.

Naturally this heavy 8 wale cord is right up our rue. It’s really lovely to see Margaret Howell have reissued this jacket, despite the price being that of a month’s rent round here. You have to pay for quality after all.

Should you find yourself in receipt of the requisite funds, tap your thumb here and make one of the best purchases you’ll ever make.
