For a retailer whose HQ is just north of the Potteries, Belstaff is a brand that fits. It began manufacturing high quality waterproof jackets 92 years ago in Longton, Stoke on Trent. As the first company to use waxed cotton, Belstaff began to gain a name for itself specialising in motorcycle jackets – a reputation which endures to this day.
It’s not all about hard-wearing jackets that repel the rain though. Now Italian-owned, Belstaff has that effortless, comfortable-with-itself style. As I sit here writing this, the weather looks decidedly moody, yet I’m sweating like a pregnant Nun. It’s that time of year, time to prepare the coats. Don’t say you weren’t warned.
