Ben Barry – the founder of Kavu – is a bit of a legend. He joined an Alaskan commercial fisherman boat at the age of 16. When he slept, though, or when he daydreamed as he saw the sun slide off under the sea’s endless horizon, he dreamed about owning a fashion brand that embodied his love for adventure.
8 years after becoming a fisherman, Barry manufactured his first ‘strap cap’ and sold it out of the boot of his car. The now-signature strap has found itself on hundreds of new forms and variations. Here, it lines the top of a bucket hat in Caramel, Steel Blue and Frose.
