Proper Picks: Gear of the Week 8th-15th April

Another week comes with another tonne of gear for you to spend your money on. Featuring releases from adidas, New Balance and Nike, alongside some excellent looking bits from the likes of Armor Lux, Stone Island and Prevu, it’s clear to see we’re approaching those warmer climates and long, week night pub sessions and we’re very, very into it. Here are some of the best bits from the last week, with some other to keep your chops out for too. Nice one.

£139.00, Hanon

SS19 has already seen the release of a special ZX 10000C model designed by and exclusive to Overkill stores. For that model, Overkill co-owner Marc Leuschner applied splashes of bright colour to the uppers and midsoles to craft an eye-catching homage to a number of his favourite ZXs from the original ’84-’91 releases.
New Balance 997H “Pastel Pack”
£75.00, New Balance

Another adaptation of the iconic 997 New Balance silhouette, this time in a range of bright pastel colours that scream IT’S NEARLY SUMMER. Take good care of these though, because one drop of beer in the summer sun and you’re done for. Wishing you the best of luck.

Sure to keep your feet cushioned and comfy thanks to its EVA midsole, Reebok’s Workout Ripple OG is a sporting footwear style that’s built with a low-cut silhouette.
adidas Nite Jogger

Inspired by the 1980 Nite Jogger, these shoes shine bright with retro style and reflective details. The mesh and nylon ripstop upper is detailed with suede overlays. An updated Boost midsole adds responsive cushioning for all-day comfort.

Missing Link x Nike Air Max Susan

Inspired by the new comedy adventure, Missing Link, from LAIKA, comes the latest addition to the Air Max family. Air Susan marries the spirit of the Air Max 1 with the unique sensibilities of a stop motion animation studio. Out of that collaboration comes pure imagination.
Spring Court Ochre Canvas
€79.00, Spring Court

Vintage ochre cotton canvas upper, off-white rubber midsole, off-white cotton lining, vintage ochre colour rubber outsole. Not many shoes more suited to summer climates.
Air Max 90 ‘Mars Landing’
£200+, Presented By

After much anticipation the Nike Air Max 90 Mars Landing has finally touched down! Acting as a sequel to the Swoosh’s highly sought after ‘Moon Landing’ of 2014, which features a similar lunar inspired upper.
The Reebok Oi Polloi Workout Clean MU
£95.00, Oi Polloi (Released Tuesday 16th April)

Four years after our first collaboration with Reebok – Oi Polloi and Reebok are back at it for round two. These beauties here are the Oi Polloi Workout Clean MU, and without trying to sound too conceited, we think they’re pretty decent.
Reebok Classics x Have A Good Time
£TBC, (Released April 12th)

Reebok Classic has teamed up with cult Tokyo retailer, Have A Good Time (HAGT) on a collaborative collection, applying the store’s notorious bright, light-hearted aesthetic to Reebok’s iconic Aztrek runner.
Armor Lux Vareuse Heritage Jacket
£120.00, The Hip Store

Known mostly for their Breton striped apparel, Armor Lux are actually good at making other clothing too. This Vareuse Heritage Jacket (pronounce that how you please) is the perfect spring evening jacket, paired with shorts while sipping a chilled chalet of Stella Artois. Merci.
Haglofs Grym Evo Jacket Men
£310.00, Haglofs

A tough and technical jacket, this 3-layer shell jacket from Swedish brand Haglofs, boasts all of the features you need when you’re deep in the wildest bits of wilderness you can find.
Stone Island Marina T-Shirt
£150.00, Oi Polloi

You’re currently basking in the glow of the Marina T-Shirt, from Stone Island’s hallowed Marina line. With those seriously slick stripes and that hard-wearing jersey fabric, there’s no doubt of this one’s nautical credentials, and is just the thing we’d wear if we spent our free time roaming the beaches of southern Italy. That compass on the chest should come in handy if you ever get lost roaming the high seas as well.

Prevu Medina SS Polo Sand
£80.00, Prevu

Inspired by Marrakech, the Medina Polo draws influence from simple structure and natural grains. A contrast puppytooth trim, twin vertical in design, runs down the front of a soft, short sleeve jersey polo for a cultured and classy finish.

Tayler Willson

Absolutely well into house plants.
