The first thing I think when I see this modern classic is the time I spent in Italy a few years ago, where almost everyone was wearing a variation of it. The Napapijri Skidoo is the outerwear piece they do better than anyone else, and this summer takedown of it will always have a place in our heart and indeed wardrobe.
I might not be fully up to date with Italian trends, my last trip to Milan was mercifully cancelled at the last minute in February of last year. But I’m willing to bet if I had found myself amongst it in the San Siro as planned, I’d have been an oasis of Englishness in a sea of Italians wearing jackets with Norwegian flags on. And I’d have returned thinking “Yeah I need one of them”, just like I did last time.
