Mad to think that Stone Island have been doing collabs with Supreme for five years now isn’t it? I remember when it first happened and the furore there was from some hardcore S.I. fans that ‘their’ beloved label had been hijacked by young upstart skateboarders though personally I thought it was the perfect marriage of Italian sportswear and American streetwear. I reckon this latest collection for SS19 should turn the most ardent of anti-Supreme heads such are the powerful golden era, Osti-esque vibes the collection emits. In fact squint your eyes and this could almost be a Too Hot photo shoot. Un-squint your eyes and you’ll see Jacket and vest, cargo pants, boonie hat and a shoulder bag in brushed cotton 2C Camo-OVD printed with a two-colour camouflage pattern, Alongside jacket, jogging pants and six panel caps in ‘New Silk Light’, a modern and lighter take on Silk Light, the historic Stone Island fabric from the 80s. Plus a hooded sweatshirt, t-shirt and bermuda short in cotton fleece that have been garment dyed with a dust colour treatment that deposits on the surface a veil of contrasting colour that creates a unique and unrepeatable appearance for each piece.
