Timberland stays close to nature with the Euro Hiker & Earthkeeper

When you’re so renowned for making hard-wearing footwear for outdoor graft, you’ve got to work hard to stay ahead of the pack. Timberland’s iconic Original 6 inch boot has long since transcended its workwear usage to become a cult classic, but 70 year old brand doesn’t rest on its laurels with this.

Just released in time for the impending freeze comes a reworked Earthkeeper Boot together with the ever-popular Euro Hiker.

The former is created in collaboration with Christopher Raeburn, known for his commitment to responsible design. With elements of his individual design style, it has a slightly futuristic aesthetic.

The latter also benefits from Raeburn’s sustainable principles as it’s constructed using something they’re calling ‘Better Leather’, sourced from a tannery, rated silver for its environmental processes. It also boasts a waterproof membrane which is made using recycled plastic bottles rescued from landfill.

If anything, it’s the female versions I’m most attracted to, which might say something about me in these gender fluid times. Sure, I’ve got three kids but if I want to wear girls boots I can if I want.

Above all you know with Timberland you’re getting something that does what it’s meant to and will last you a long time. In these responsible days, that’s really valuable.

Available from Timberland now.
