Universal Works Launches SS22 Collection

The new Universal Works collection is inspired by the sentiment of freedom and new horizons embodied in the work of mid-century American photographer, Todd Webb.

Outside the Frame is a book of the photographer’s previously unpublished images which capture the cultural changes taking place in Africa in 1958. Webb travelled across the continent documenting the journey from empire rule to independence and the sense of hope, positivity and happiness in everyday, candid moments. This sense of optimism has inspired the shapes, tones and silhouettes of the new Uni Works collection.

As befitting an uplifting summer collection, fabrics are breathable, crisp wovens such as the embroidered Holiday Shirt in sky blue Typewriter cotton and the distinctly vintage looking Camp Shirt in waffle-esque Delos cotton. Eye-catching prints bring encrypted, subliminal messages to the celebration party, and camos, hand-drawn by UW founder David Keyte, offer a laid-back Sri Lankan-army-inspired vibe.
