I love the Shadow Project because it’s like Stone Island’s mysterious half-brother, the one who left town to go and join the French Foreign Legion that nobody really knows what happened to him. Apart from that one time he turned up out of the blue one Christmas eve and when some massive geezer tried to punch him down the pub he did some weird ninja move on his shoulder that rendered him incontinent and unconscious at the same time.
This season marks the arrival of the 17th capsule collection from S.I. which sets out to examines ‘the inherent friction between contemporary individual and the space they inhabit’ and is a ‘decisive response to current sensory excess’. Which I don’t fully understand but do think it nicely sums up the post-apocalyptic weather resistant, assassin-friendly look of these very special (ops) garments. Oh and for those of you who are as geeky as us about Stone Island technology then you may be interested to know that their David-TC and Raso-R fabrics have undergone an unprecedented metamorphosis via a brand new ‘Fallout’ colour treatment which is applied by hand to create an eroded effect and an aggressive ‘gritty’ exterior to the products. So lets all make like DB and run for the shadows.
