6876: Mount McKinley Alaska USA

sixeightsevensix-5946-683x1024I proper love this relief map of the Alaskan mountains partly because it reminds me of a 1960s Apollo space ship model kit I got when I was a kid and partly because it will fill me with an enormous sense of wellbeing just looking at it sat on my shelf in it’s neat perspex box like the ultimate in post-modern, geographic curios. It’s also the first in a series which means my collector geek senses are well and truly tingling (please let there be a Himalayan one).  They come  in their own science-y perspex case with distinctive graphic box, the scale is 1:75000 (1 cm = 750 m, 1 contour line = 20 m) and they are ‘produced by hand over a period of months utilising miniature craftsmanship and world renowned Swiss precision‘. Oh and they’re available from the mighty, majestic, towering 6876 site HERE.
