Collaboration at its finest.
The Adidas Samba has lived a life. In it’s 73 years it’s had a few make overs, the Samba millenium, the Samba ’85, the SL72 and the classic M. It’s been a staple on five a side pitches forever and is also synonymous with the skillful game of futsal. Thanks to Adidas, the beautiful game had a beautiful shoe.
In recent times we’ve seen many classic sillouttes given a make over by collaborators. Highlights include Virgil Abloh’s ‘Ten’, Tyler the Creator’s Converse One star and Travis’ Air max one. It’s great to see Adidas pairing their historical and contemporary golden gooses on this shoe and the result is something spectacular.
Wales Bonner describe it as a ‘new perspective’ on the Samba and its crocodile skin finish stripes evidenece this. Other features include a satin lining, contrast top stitching and a pair of crochet laces. Through these details the shoe is elevated to allign with Wales Bonner’s relaxed but stylish lifetstyle aesthetic in which the versatility of the silhouette is highlighted.
