Whilst I could wax lyrical for many hours on the wonders of classic Barbour jackets (wax geddit?) such as the Bedale, the Longshoreman or the Beaufort it reassuring to know that the North Eastern brand are also pushing the envelope with their new designs too. When not collaborating with Daiki Suzuki from Engineered Garments they’re out there creating exciting new off-shoots labels like the new Beacon collection. This new arm to the Barbour dynasty is named after the iconic lighthouse that sits at the mouth of the river Tyne and is synonymous with the South Shields brand. Though embodying Barbour’s rich heritage the Beacon range also encompasses a youthful attitude with an emphasis on bold colours and hike-friendly technical outerwear. A prime example of which is this blue panelled Troutbeck jacket that’s just landed at Mainline Menswear, a key piece from the Beacon range that will keep you covered wherever you may roam this Autumn/Winter..
