Berghaus Dean Street SS20 ‘Locals’

The second drop from Berghaus’s highly anticipated Dean Street collection has arrived and it does not disappoint. Digging deep into their archive they’ve pulled out some pieces whose origins (or at least their colour palettes) focus on the glory days of the late 1980s and early 1990s. A time when Berghaus jackets were as popular at warehouse parties as they were hanging out at the Himalayas.

Entitled ‘Locals’ with models cast entirely on location in the North East the SS20 look book documents a day in the life of four teenagers living in rural Britain who, despite the current political climate, live carefree, spirited and fearless. Whilst brand director Kev McFadyen, Berghaus had this to say:

‘For the second season of tour Dean Street collection we want to stay close to our Newcastle roots, and it felt natural to street-cast our shoot with real people from our local towns and communities. Northumberland and its countryside is where we have tested many of our products over the years, and we thought that the current youth and political landscape made it all the more interesting a canvas for a range inspired by our heritage.
