Clarks Originals x Oi Polloi Wallabee Ridge

“Oooh doesn’t time fly”?

No.  These pissy wet and unseasonably mild days seem to be going on for bloody ages.

However it does seem only a bit since late July when I was excitedly looking forward to the arrival of a ‘refound’ classic from the Clarks Originals archive, in the shape of the newly christened Wallabee Ridge (have a read here if you like).

Well now we’ve all two’sed up on the leather ones in the sale and it’s not far off Spring/Summer when a “young man’s fancy lightly turns to thoughts of SUEDE” (copyright Albert Lord Tennis-on) we can have a look at a premium suede version of the Shoe Formerly Known As Caravan.

Ready to repeat the success of their last partnership Clarks Originals have bedded up with Team Magpie once more.  The Oi Polloi Wallabee in ‘Unicorn’ leather has for many been a recent highlight in the Originals roster. Those Dijon and Wasabi uppers in buttery soft suede gave a knowing nod to Mancunian Acid House days and showed us (if ever we doubted) that Nigel & Steve at Oi Polloi know their footwear.

And so it is with the duo’s involvement with this release of the Wallabee Ridge in Maple and Cola suede.  Being long-held fans of the model, it is rumoured that the chaps pushed for the original reissue and were keen to add their own touch with a suede version ripe for wearing on the summer sun drenched streets.….come on it’ll be here before you know it…..”Time waits for no man”
