Devised as a hyper-modern label focused on experimentation and product innovation, Colmar Advanced Garment Exploration (A.G.E.) is Italian luxury outerwear brand Colmar’s latest project. Reinterpreting heritage pieces through the lens of modern luxury fashion, Colmar has brought in Hood by Air founder Shayne Oliver as the project’s inaugural collaborator. Having brought innovation to alpine gear for over ninety years Colmar’s wealth of technological innovation and history has provided Oliver with a unique platform to break new ground in the realm of men’s outdoor performance wear. Under Oliver’s creative direction, the menswear diffusion line subverts expectations through various methods of transformation and exaggeration, classic outerwear silhouettes receive imaginative updates to defy expectations.
Rich colorways harmonize with polished detailing to produce highly covetable signature pieces that are equal parts functional and stylish. While traditional modes of design are challenged by the Hood By Air founder’s progressive alignment, inventive constructions culminate in garments that prove adaptable enough to master any alpine environment.
This second drop of the collection is a “lighter” collection not only from the perspective of the materials and fabrics used, but also the weights and shapes. The pieces have a strong street-style influence, with elongated shapes. The materials are lightweight crinkle nylon, cotton, jersey and polar fleece. There are lightweight down jackets and jackets for the spring, sweats and tees. The colours are basic: black and white with baby pink and baby blue, representative of the genderless approach to fashion from the designer.
