Colmar has been around since 1923, initially making skiwear before turning their sights on other outdoors and technical garments. Their latest SS22 ‘New Optimistic World’ straddles the balance between form and functionality, intending to “observe the present and look towards tomorrow”.

The release is structured around four areas: Springtime, Recycled Essentials, Mid-season and Summer. This gives the entire collection a transitional shape, starting with classic outdoor wear and moving towards lighter and vivid pieces.

The Springtime collection emphasises freedom of movement, and focuses on rebuilding and reinterpreting historic Colmar pieces. The collection includes a range of men’s and women’s wear, including short jacket, gilets, jacquard sweatshirts and biker jackets.

For the second season running, Colmar’s Recycled Essentials ranges play on essential pieces and silhouettes with progressively more important essential methods: recycled and biodegradable fabrics, bits made using waste material during production processes and yarns from plastic bottles. All eco-friendly fabrics are distinguished by Colmar’s Green Path logo.

The Mid-Season and Summer range focus on breathable jackets with technical polyurethane membranes, and light, simple pieces like shorts, sweaters and t-shirts.

The New Optimistic World features details like Italian flag colours and contrasting edges, showcasing the brand’s heritage. The collection in inspired by technology and communication, taping into Colmar’s connection to function and their commitments to progression.
