Forty years ago Oregonian footwear legends Danner were experimenting with a relatively unknown, breathable, waterproof textile called Gore-Tex. Literally stepping into new territory Gore-tex hadn’t been used in footwear before and so the game-changing Danner Light was born. The pair of boots to feature Gore-tex liners it high performance functionality and dashing good looks made it an instant hit amongst the hikers, hunters and hard workers throughout the Pacific North-West. Now something of an outdoor iconic Danner are honouring this four decade milestone with a limited edition pair of Danner Lights that still possess all the appeal of the original 1970s model albeit with some ergonomic improvements . Still made in the Portland factory where it all started the limited edition 40th Anniversary pair feature a full grain leather and 1000 denier nylon upper with a Vibram Kletterlift outsole and thanks to good old Gore-tex are 100% waterproof.
