Fred Perry presents Terry Hall & Tim Burgess in Conversation

Despite it feeling like we’ve missed some gems to the cutting room floor (and/or dead long silences) this chat with Terry and Tim still comes across like a landmark scene from an Alan Bennett play. Filmed in a back street cafe in Nottingham during the Dot to Dot festival the two front men talk about skinheads, being robbed by the Happy Mondays, growing up as one of Tony Wilson’s children and how anyone can release their music out into the world isn’t necessarily a good thing in a wonderful mix of Hall deadpan and Burgess wide-eyed optimism. The two ‘subcultural icons’ were brought together by Fred Perry with both have also contributed their own profiles and playlists to the subculture section of Fred Perry online. Go and have a mooch at Terry’s here and Tim’s here.
