FREEZE THE SHARK: a journey with Alex Bellini and Paul&Shark at -40°

In keeping with Paul & Shark’s focus on sailors, travellers and explorers and their desire to travel ‘beyond the horizon’ they have challenged fellow Italian Alex Bellini to cross an ice cap of almost 8,100 sq km all by himself.  The Vatnajökull is the biggest glacier in Europe that rises 1,400 metres above sea-level and is a symbol of a continually changing world both metaphorically and actual in terms of dramatic climate change. The idea behind the challenge being to ‘push beyond the boundaries of our habits and certainties’ as Alex puts it, and to ‘bridge the gap between what we know, what we imagine and what is actually happening to the climate’.

Alex’s journey will be documented by Paul & Shark on a daily basis via their social media channels and on it’s dedicated website freezethemoment.it. In order to survive this daring challenge P&S have kitted out the renowned Italian explorer in their -40 capsule Collection which comprises of three technical jackets, a fleece and a pair of trousers all designed to withstand arctic temperatures and the most extreme conditions of the glacier.
