Patagonia and the Sustainable Apparel Coalition

Already well known for having a refreshingly ethical stance within the clothing industry, outdoor legends Patagonia have recently teamed up with Wal-Mart to create the Sustainable Apparel Coalition. the main focus of the coalition is to promotes labelling on clothing that provides a guide to the sustainability and environmental credentials of each garment, much in the same way food labelling tells you just what it is that you’re about to eat.  As serious clothing consumers we can’t applaud this idea loudly enough and we’re heartened to hear that the Coalition is already a huge success with Nike, Gap, H&M and M&S already on board meaning that the members involved so far produce 30% of the world’s clothing globally, Yves Chouinard & Co. we salute you.
