Proper Picks: Gear of the Week 11th-17th November

It’s been a pretty good week for releases. It’s that time of the year when everyone starts to panic as well, everyone starts buying coats and warm gear on a whim because they’re unprepared and haven’t planned. But not us, we’ve been plotting for months.

This week’s Proper Picks features potentially the 2019 Jacket of the Year in Adsum’s Alpine Jacket, as well as a neat fleece option from Scandinavian mandem Rains. It’s all happening. Dive in.

Fred Perry x The Specials Patch Polo Shirt
£79.00, Fred Perry

Reworking the iconic Fred Perry Polo, this particular iteration has been made in honour of the Specials’ debut album, released 40 years ago this year. Designed by Art Comes First with printed slogans on the back and a patch stitched to the chest. Nice, right?
Universal Works x Oi Polloi Uniform Jacket
£165.00, Oi Polloi

A collaboration to celebrate a decade since Oi Polloi began stocking Notthingham’s Universal Works. They come in a bunch of swell colours, but this one’s our favourite. We think.

Rains Fleece Zip Puller
£65.00, Rains

Rains have made something that isn’t waterproof, which is weird. Their Fleece Zip Puller has been created to act as an additional layer for dropping temperatures.
New Balance x Aime Leon Dore 990v2
Aime Leon Dore
It’s no surprise that the end product of a New Balance and Aime Leon Dore collaboration is something pretty special, is it? Their 990s are our favourite piece from the collection (although we’ll take the whole lot thank you very much).

Adsum Alpine Jacket
£500.00, Adsum

Shock, Adsum have made another excellent big coat. The Expedition fit down jacket will keep you warm in the most extreme of cold conditions. Like on your walk to the shop on a cold and wet Sunday morning, or something similar.
Novesta Rubber Sneaker
€90.00, Novesta

The perfect trainers for the British winter. Say goodbye to wet feet and hello to dry, healthy feet with Novesta’s latest vegan-friendly Rubber Sneaker.

Crep Protect Impact Insoles
£13.00, JD Sports

Change the way you wear your trainers with these Crep Impact Insoles. Built from a synthetic breathable material, these insoles are created to protect from the forces that come with slamming against the streets enhancing performance and comfort.
adidas Malmo
£85.00, Oi Polloi

The Malmo is from the iconic adidas City Series from the late 1970s. They’ve got that classic, fairly stripped-back 70s shape, along with some neat sky blue stripes.
The English Difference Cardigan
£235.00, Couverture and The Garbstore

The English Difference Cardigan is made with signature brand’s knitted loop back, an interesting play on the classic loop back sportswear jersey. Utilising all elements of flat bed knitting the cardigan is a classic example of cut and sew British knitwear, finished with grown on ribbed hems and cuffs.

Absolutely well into house plants.
