Inspired by the socially diverse and sprawling Los Angeles metropolis alongside Proper’s favourite train-jibbing, whizz freak Jack Kerouac, Reception’s AW20 collection features coach jackets, rugby shirts and Japanese denim jacket as well as their marvellous t-shirts. “Right after coming from the US I listened to a podcast on l’étiquette magazine which referred to the style notion of Clochard Celeste” explains Reception main man Pierre Boiselle. “Clochard Celeste is an artist who had highs and lows in his life.. Rather more lows…But has continued to dress himself in a pretty unique way despite having no money unless for drugs or booze.” Clochard Celeste being the name of Kerouac’s semi-autobiographical novel ‘Dharma Burns’. True to form the new collection is effortlessly cool, imminently wearable and has Reception’s signature sense of cheeky humour running through it’s DNA. Top marks there Pierre and to photographer Thibaut Grevet who shot the brilliant look book.
