Sandqvist AW16: Petrol Blue & Marble Print

Sandqvist-Rawmaterial-8

Not only do long abandoned quarries in Sweden make for impressive and dramatic photographs, they also provide inspiration for the colours and prints used in Sandqvist‘s new collection. Reflecting the colours created via cracked rock and stone walls intermingled with years of oil, water and dust the Nordic bagsmiths have created a beautiful marble print and a dreamy petrol blue which have been applied to their Stig, Hans, Tobias, Kim and Dante bags. Abandoned quarries remind me of those days when you were a kid where you’d go off on a mad adventure for the day and end up driving a bulldozer into the side of a shed and nearly dying of laughter/mercury poisoning. If only we’d had bags as cool as these to put our jazz mags and Embassy Filters in back then.
