The North Face: Yellow Icons

The colour yellow has been a significant one in the story of The North Face, it first appeared in1970 with the launch of Acapulco Gold, a colourway chosen used not only for the way it showed up in the mountains but to stand out wherever it was worn. ‘Summit Gold soon followed and yellow has gone on to feature on some of the brand’s most iconic pieces. It’s also a firm favourite with various athletes who wear TNF such as a Scot Schmidt and Conrad Anker who showed his approval by stating “My favourite colour for expedition is yellow – it’s ‘coffee’ for the eyes and shows in zero zero conditions.” So if you’re down for some golden glowing gear then you’ll be pleased to know that The North Face have revisited this iconic colourway and reintroduced it to some of their key pieces this season. Pieces that include the retro Nuptse jacket and the Himalayan Down Parka, both of which are ideal for the colder months whether you’re heading up K2 or the M62.
