Whilst we await the imminent drop of the new edition of Proper Magazine (#13), it’s maybe the right time to add another dimension to the site.
Sorry, I’m being rude – please let me introduce myself, I’m Scott and I’ll be looking after the musical excursions on a monthly basis here on Proper. My colleagues and I intend to hand pick some of our favourite DJ’s to render their current musical selections, whether it old or new and at whatever tempo that takes their fancy a.k.a doing a mix.
So without further ado, here’s something from London native Steve Lee of The Project Club. When we asked Steve if he’d do the honour of christening the site with a mix he was straight back saying he’d just completed one that was like a soundtrack to a crazy surf journey – very relevant to our interests (clue’s in #13 cover).
We tried to get a few word’s out of Steve about his current output but he’s currently in Ecuador racing Pygmy goats and lamping killer ants. What we did establish is he’s recently been working with a new band in a recently built production studio, gained a year under his belt with his Above Machine label, whilst also managing to hold down his monthly night Balearica.
