Wellgosh Puts Together a Japanese Heavy Winter Warmer

Layer, layer, layer. Nanamica, Snow Peak, Snow Peak. A dash more Nanamica. Cav Empt for good measure. Clarks, Parra. It’s a solid set up.

Our mates at Wellgosh are constant sources of inspiration, sending us weekly curated outfits demonstrating the best of their ever growing supply of clobber.

Top layer: Nanamica Alphadry jacket, made of lightweight, sweat wicking polyester. The baggy relaxed fit is designed with one goal in mind: so that you can fit loads more fun stuff underneath it.

Fun stuff like this thick and heavyweight Snow Peak camping flannel. With a herringbone finish it efficiently merges the smartness of a shirt with the fluidity of a flannel. Like the Nanamica layer above it, it’s also boxy, leaving room for something like this Snow Peak long sleeve, or, my personal favourite, a Nanamica down-filled muffler. Under a layer or over it; there’s no rules here. It also folds in on itself for storage, but a muffler tied to the back of your jeans via a carabiner is an accessory in itself.

On the bottom there’s Cav Empt Practical Pants, made of a beautiful combination of nylon and cotton, harmonising comfort and durability. Class the outfit up with some Wallabees and top the ting off with a homage to Dutch illustrator, Piet Parra, and you have a winner.

There’s only one thing missing. And yes, there’s about a hundred pockets stashed away under all those layers, but the outfit really needs a bag. How about this Snow Peak one? Just for fun, really.
