Madchester and Mexico may at first seem odd bedfellows but they make up the inspiration for this superb collaboration between YMC and ASICS. Taking rave cultures open minded approach and carefree mixing of styles they’ve given early 80s Japanese runner the Tarther OG a South American makeover. Featuring a gum outsole and premium suede overlays the Tarther OG comes in in midnight blue or caramel brown both versions feature premium leather laces and beading to enhance the cultural reference points. Whilst the uppers have a rich canvas printed with YMC custom designed ikat print that’s based on traditional Mexican textiles. Essentially they’re a shamanic ceremony carried out on the Hacienda dancefloor in retro sports shoe form.
