For the second season running Oxford United’s kit is supplied by US company Starter. In amongst its portfolio of MLB, NBA, NFL and NHL sponsorships deals, Starter has turned-out this tasty little number for the League 1 underachievers. Quite why this is the case, and why the U’s are the only football club in the world to have a kit produced by Starter is a mystery (I gave up by page 3 of Google).
Starter’s website gives no clue that they’re supplying Robert Maxwell’s old club with kit. In amongst the apparel for Oklahoma City Thunder, Denver Nuggets and Indiana Pacers there’s nothing that Kane Hemmings and co will be taking to the field in next season. It’s a weird one, but it’s a bloody lovely shirt.
