With so much of the outdoor scene centred around the Districts Lake and Peak, it’s refreshing to see nature being appreciated down south too. Weird Walk began when three friends went on a journey together in the South West of England, an area with plenty of examples of ancient life and the folk tales that go with it.
Weird Walk celebrates folklore and foraging. Their online presence is complemented by a podcast, book (pre-order here), fanzine and more. It’s a project that was recently enhanced by them linking up with Outsiders Store, who now sell Weird Walk’s must-have Nalgene bottles. They say all water is holy water, and the bottle is extremely portable and extremely pagan.
