Battenwear at Oi Polloi

It was only last week when we wrote about the success of S.K. Manor’s Dominic Sondag, who worked under David Suzuki of Engineered Garment’s fame. This week, we’re shining a light on another Suzuki-influenced graduate: Shinya Hasegawa, founder of Battenwear.

Hasegawa worked under Suzuki at Woolrich Woolen Mills, and similar to Sondag, is now located in NY. While studying marketing (albeit in a fashion world), Hasegawa was taken under Suzuki’s wing and trained to make his own designs. The culmination of his fashion journey so far is Battenwear.

Battenwear is the type of clothing that pulls at your heartstrings. In the description for this track jacket, Oi Polloi were enthralled enough by the cotton twill to use words like “splendiferous” and “idiosyncratic”. I think that says it all.

There’s a whole range of equally thrilling items from Battenwear available at Oi Polloi, who have just stocked heavier coats and a range of cardigans and fleeces.

Pre some styling and items below.
