Clarks Originals Vulco Guide Boot

We love The Outdoors here at Proper.

We think it’s “Great”.

We also love clothes and shoes that look like they’re at one with the wilderness; if not through their technical nous then from the fact their design is inspired by them there woodlands and craggy spaces.

With their new boot silhouette – The Vulco Guide – Clarks Originals have given us just that.

Looking like it’s come directly from hunting Sasquatch in the wooded lowlands of the Rockies it’s not hard to see where the inspiration for the Vulco Guide Boot came from. Clarks Originals have taken a classic trail boot and injected it with a bit of their own DNA (oo-er missus) through the butt-stitching and use of their crepe sole. Add to this the 5 metal eyelets, leather laces and heel pull tabs, and premium tumbled leather uppers and you’ve got a new little classic from the Clarks stable.

The ‘standard’ edition in Brown leather is available from the Clarks online store now; however it’s the 2 limited edition colourways and material make-ups – forming the second part of the Clarks Originals x Herschel Supply Company collaboration (that we told you about a few months ago) – where the boots really up the ante.

Using a material mix of suede, cotton ripstop, denim and leather and lined with the Canadian company’s signature red pin stripe, these boots (only available from select retailers) come with a dual-branded striped shoe bag and are enough to bring Bigfoot right down the mountain of his own accord. (You know what they say about Big Foot, don’t you?…big shoes. Eh? Eh?)

Both the Denim Blue and Ace Army Green (imagine them teamed with those EG pants that young Moorsey told us about) are available in limited numbers from our friends at Stuarts of London for £109.
