Dreaded Path take Cat Footwear to iconic islands

Cat Footwear is set to redefine rugged style with its maiden collaboration alongside the legendary Harris Tweed. With a century-long reputation for durability and sustainability, Harris Tweed proves to be the ideal fabric to elevate Cat Footwear’s iconic Colorado 2.0 boot. Partnering with Dreaded Path, they shoes were taken for a test run on the Isles of Lewis and Harris.

The collaboration, rooted in the “Built from The Land” narrative, pays homage to the craftsmanship, diligence, and resilience of the Outer Hebrides community in Scotland. The 100% wool fabric, meticulously sourced and woven on the Isle of Harris, is a testament to the rich heritage of the region. This globally renowned fabric intertwines the essence of the land and its people, mirroring the landscapes’ hues, the majesty of vistas, and the core values of the community.

Venturing to the northern reaches of the isolated island chain, the Isle of Lewis unfolds with its rugged beauty—blanketed in heather and moor, adorned with lochs and streams. Stornoway, the primary harbour town, and the three Harris Tweed mills find their home here. Meanwhile, the mountainous Isle of Harris, to the south, boasts world-class beaches, azure seas, and hidden crofts and villages.

Further south, the smaller islands, including the Uists with their machair meadows and loch-laden isles, along with Barra at the southern tip, continue the tradition of producing the renowned Harris Tweed.

The partnership breathes new life into Cat Footwear’s iconic Colorado, presenting it in three distinct Harris Tweed color stories inspired by the Outer Hebrides’ landscapes. Each story gracefully drapes over the Colorado’s ankle cuff and quarter panel, ensuring unparalleled comfort and durability. Cat Footwear’s signature features, including a robust rubber outsole, cushioned foam footbed, and breathable nylon mesh lining, are complemented by the weather-resistant finish of oiled nubuck.

The Colorado 2.0 Harris Tweed collection is set to hit and select retailers in October 2023, featuring three captivating colorways: Black, Chocolate Brown, and the unmistakable Amber Gold. It’s a fusion of rugged style and timeless tradition, a true embodiment of the Outer Hebrides spirit.
