Padmore and Barnes are back

The search terms ‘padmore’, ‘padmore barnes’, ‘clarks padmore’ and various other permutations have long been in my list of ‘saved searches’ on eBay.

They’re now arguably redundant though, after the shoe-geek world’s worst kept secret has finally materialised.

The Padmore and Barnes website has gone live at:- http://www.padmore-barnes.com/

At this point you could be forgiven for navigating away from this page, but if you want some more background, read on.

Padmore and Barnes have been making ace footwear in Kilkenny, Ireland since 1934. Their link up with Clarks is what makes them relevant to people like us though. Between 1967 and 1987, Clarks made shoes like the Wallabee via the Padmore and Barnes factory and to many, that was the golden age of Clarks. While Clarks have a strong grasp on their own history, purists have been yearning for the more substantial versions of shoes like the Wallabee or the Weaver.

And the wait is over.

We won’t keep you much longer. You’ve got a pair of shoes to buy, right?
